- *Invasion of Privacy: Public communication of private and embarrassing facts.
- *Intrusion: A reporter goes "too far" when gathering news -- trespass, secret surveillance, misrepresentation
- *False Light: A highly unflattering or offensive portrayal of a person as something he or she is not.
- *Misappropriation: Unauthorized use of a person's name, photograph, likeness, voice, or endorsement in advertising.
- public disclosure: A communication of information to a wide audience.
- truth: The actual state of of a person, event, activity, place, or thing.
- newsworthiness: Something that has sufficient interest or importance to the public to justify reporting in news media.
- consent: A person agrees to news coverage (interviews and photography) when in private spaces.
- trespass: A reporter gathers information in a private space without valid consent.
- misrepresentation: Statements or photographs that do not correspond with the facts.
